Dokan Websites

Optimized Website Design for Dokan

Quick Summary

Problem

Dokan Cloud is feature-rich (vendor management, payouts/tax, page builder, themes, customer app), but the website didn’t clearly explain what each feature does, who it’s for, how it works, or the business value. Visitors had to hunt across long pages with mixed patterns and CTAs. The Customer App page also lacked clarity on audience (end customers of marketplaces), how merchants enable it, and the benefits. Beyond Cloud, we also needed cross-property pages (Cloud + Plugin): a new brand guidelines hub after the logo refresh, an eCommerce Award microsite, and a bundle page so buyers could purchase multiple weDevs products with a consistent, modern experience.

Solution

Built a feature-education website system: a modular Information Architecture and reusable page template for every capability—What it is → Who it’s for → How it works (real UI) → Key benefits → Setup/FAQ → Clear CTA (“Start Free Trial” / “Try Demo”). Copy maps to actual product states to avoid over/under-promising. Added direct onboarding paths from feature pages to sign-up to reduce searching. For the Customer App, rewrote and redesigned the page to spell out audience, enablement steps, sync/branding, and tangible benefits. Delivered shared components and a unified visual style across Cloud and Plugin. Also produced the Brand Guidelines page (usage rules, color palette, downloads), the eCommerce Award page (how to enter/vote), and a Bundles page (buy multiple products with a single, consistent flow).

Impact

Clearer “feature → value → proof” storytelling, faster comprehension, and a more direct path from interest to trial/pricing. Feature pages now answer “what do I get and why it matters?” without extra support hops, CTAs are consistent, and brand usage is easier for partners via the new guidelines. Early qualitative signals showed deeper section engagement and more trial-intent clicks from feature pages; final GA metrics can be added once available.

Context & Goals

Dokan Cloud has a lot of powerful features—vendor ops, payouts/tax, a no-code builder, themes, even a Customer App—but users struggled to understand what each feature does, who it’s for, and why it matters. We needed the website to do three things

Goals

Explain simply: Use UI-driven storytelling (real screens, states, short copy) so users quickly grasp how a feature works and the benefits.

Guide to action: Standardize IA and patterns so a visitor can start a trial or onboarding from any feature page without hunting.

Stay on-brand and findable: Strengthen brand clarity (visual system, voice, assets) and ship with solid SEO & accessibility.

Additionally, we had cross-property needs (Cloud + Plugin): a Brand Guidelines hub after the logo refresh, an eCommerce Award microsite, and a Bundles page to purchase multiple weDevs products with a consistent, modern experience.

Key design decisions

Cloud Home

● What it tells: Build an Amazon/Etsy-style marketplace fast; unified admin, payments/tax, domains, guided setup, global reach.

● How it shows: Above-the-fold promise, UI tiles (dashboard, payments, setup steps), and a simple “How it works” ladder with repeated trial CTAs.

Vendor Management

● What it tells: Day-to-day marketplace ops—analytics, roles/permissions, seller verification, reviews, onboarding.

● How it shows: Real UI frames (role granularity, availability, review insights, subscription flows) with short benefit copy and obvious CTAs.

Pre-Built Themes (Themes Library)

● What it tells: Launch faster with responsive, performance-minded themes; no-code customization; ongoing updates.

● How it shows: Theme cards by vertical, quick-setup guidance, and builder-linked component lists.

Page Builder (No-code)

● What it tells: Drag-and-drop widgets, presets, global styles, layer control, multilingual—ship storefronts quickly.

● How it shows: Widget panel shots, preset grids, and “see changes instantly” messaging for a no-code, full-freedom feel.

Tax & Financial Management

● What it tells: Tax classes per country, CSV import, real-time updates; flexible payouts (weekly/monthly/bi-monthly), thresholds, manual vs automatic, reporting.

● How it shows: Admin screens for tax classes/payout schedules and “how payouts work” explainers with history views and next-step CTAs.

Cloud Feature Hub

● What it tells: A browsable catalog (Branding & SEO, Analytics, Marketing, Shipping, Payouts, Verification, etc.).

● How it shows: Category blocks with focused UI snippets and benefit-first microcopy so users can jump straight to relevant features.

Customer App (Mobile app landing)

● What it tells: Who it’s for (your marketplace’s customers), how merchants enable it, and what they gain (faster checkout, longer sessions, push-driven repeat purchases).

● How it shows: Clear audience callout, enablement steps, sync/branding overview, and tangible benefits—plus a demo/preview prompt.

Coupons & Promos

● What it tells: Discount mechanics, bundles/add-ons, and when to use them.

● How it shows: Offer tiles, seasonal tips (e.g., BFCM), and a “Try Demo” CTA.

Brand Assets (Guidelines)

● What it tells: Post-logo-refresh rules: logo usage, safe space, color palette, do’s/don’ts, and downloads for third parties.

● How it shows: Visual rules with “what not to do,” solid-background guidance, and quick downloads.

eCommerce Award

● What it tells: Who can apply, categories, timeline, and public voting.

● How it shows: Step-by-step overview and simple “Nominate” CTAs.

What improved

● Focused, repeatable feature stories with real UI and scannable benefits.

● Consistent primary actions (“Start Free Trial” / “Get Dokan Cloud”) at predictable points.

● Clear Brand Guidelines hub with downloads and rules.

● Reusable modules (metrics rows, feature grids, proof tiles, FAQs) across the whole site.

Results

Clarity: Complex ops (tax, payouts, permissions) explained in short, benefit-first blocks with real UI.

Consistency: Unified Information Architecture and components reduce friction and make it easier to start a trial from any page.

Conversion intent (qualitative): More visitors reach CTA zones after engaging mid-page modules.

What I’d Improve Next

Experimentation: A/B hero headlines + CTAs; test sticky mini-CTAs on deeper pages.

Interactive proof: Lightweight click-through demos for Tax/Payout setup and Page Builder.

SEO expansions: Add Product/FAQ schema; strengthen internal links to Pricing and Case Studies.

Accessibility: Alt text, semantic H1–H3 structure, contrast checks (light & dark).

Social proof: Add short Customer App outcomes (push → repeat purchase) on relevant pages.
